What Went Wrong for CSK against the RR that caused them to lose by 16 runs
First Talk about Bowling of CSK
The bowlers of CSK managed to take the early wicket of the Young batsmen Yashasvi Jaiswal. But that just made the situation worse, when Jaiswal got out Sanju Samson came in to bat. And he changed the whole scenario as he smashed the spinners of CSK without any mercy. He hit 9 huge sixes and only one four. And made 74 runs in only 32 balls. And Steven Smith managed to score 69 runs in 47 balls. Miller was golden duck as run out. Robin Uthappa, Rahul Tewatia, Riyan Parag wasn’t able to do much. And then Lungi Ngidi Came to bowl the final over and that was a total disaster. Two no balls and a total of 30 runs in the final over. Jofra Archer was the one who smashed in the final over and ended with 27 runs in only 8 balls. And RR Managed to give the target of 217 runs. Deepak Chahar, Lungi Ngidi, and Piyush Chawla Managed to take one wicket each and Sam Curran managed to grab 3 wickets. Jadeja was the only bowler who was wicketless.
Fielding of CSK
Overall the fielding of CSK was average there was a dropped catch and there were few misfields also. But we know that the fielding isn’t their best department. So there weren’t that many high expectations from CSK fielders.
Let’s talk about last but not the least Batting of CSK
They were chasing 217 runs that’s a huge total. The openers of CSK managed to score 53 runs in the first six overs without any wicket. And by the 14th over they managed to score 115 runs with the loss of 5 wickets and Faf du Plessis was still on the crease with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. At one time it looked impossible that CSK will even reach 200. But they did manage to score 200 runs by the ending of the final over. Faf du Plessis did score 72 runs in 37 balls.
What went Wrong for CSK against RR
First of the spinners of CSK did make a huge mistake by bowling the bowl too full. And there were many questions why Mahendra Singh Dhoni didn’t come earlier to bat but it is quite simple that he needed to try some new things and see whether things work out or not and if not then he can stick to their strengths. The debutant Ruturaj Gaikwad was also got stumped on his first ball. Ruturaj Gaikwad was in the place of Ambati Rayudu as he wasn’t 100% fit. As he said after the match he wanted to give the opportunity to Sam Curran and on my point of view at that situation it was the right decision they needed some big hits and Sam Curran did score 17 runs in 6 balls. In the final over Mahendra Singh Dhoni changed the bat when only four balls left and that was a little late. Still, in the last four balls, he scored 19 runs. Mahendra Singh Dhoni managed to score 29 runs in 17 balls. After the match, he did say that after 14-day quarantine and he also hasn’t played for a long time. So we can expect that we will soon see Old Mahendra Singh Dhoni since these are the initial matches.
